Dynamic working
At Costain we implement a dynamic working approach, where employees are empowered to have more control over their working hours and locations, in line with the needs of the individual, team, project and client.
Holy festivals leave
We recognise that UK Bank Holidays typically mark Christian festivals. Our Holy festivals leave allows employees of different faiths to swap a bank holiday for a festival relevant to their personal religion, providing recognition and flexibility for people of all faiths.
Military leave
Costain recognises the vital role of Britain’s Reserve Forces, and the valuable contribution that members of the Reserve Forces make to Britain’s defence, their communities, and their civilian workplace. In line with the Armed Forces Covenant, reservists will receive two weeks additional paid leave for training and will be granted additional unpaid time off to support the Regular Forces once every five years. Employees who are volunteer leaders in military cadet organisations are able to utilise two volunteering days annually to attend annual training camps and courses.
Sabbatical leave
Sabbatical leave of three to 12 months is available to employees with a continuous service period. Every individual will have different reasons for wishing to take sabbatical leave and may include further education, travel, community or voluntary service or caring responsibilities.
